Goals from summer signing Viktor Gyokeres and midfield maestro Declan Rice saw Arsenal win their fifth game in a row, including their fourth without conceding, as Burnley were put to the sword.

Up front, Viktor Gyokeres continues his adaptation, tasked with occupying Burnley’s defence and finishing ruthlessly. Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard flank him, both capable of deciding matches with a moment of clarity or courage.

The first half was an impressive show of dominance from the league leaders, preventing their hosts from having a shot of any kind in the opening 45 minutes. Arsenal took the lead on 14 minutes, Viktor Gyokeres heading home from a matter of inches after Gabriel had headed a Declan Rice corner back across the Burnley goal.

Arteta’s side would eventually double their lead in the 35th minute through Rice. At the end of a sweeping move which began with Kyle Walker launching a long throw into Arsenal’s box, the visiting midfielder crashed into Burnley’s penalty area to head a deft cross from Trossard into the bottom corner.
