A couple Hoosiers defenders fell as DeJuan Williams caught a pass about 12 yards down field that resulted in a 55-yard score by the time he was finished running. Quarterback Malik Washington had scrambled to his left, drew several IU defenders that left an opening for Williams.
But the Terps showed a glimmer of hope when they started the second half. Maryland trailed, 20-3, but the Terps got the homecoming crowd stirring with a four-play, 75-yard touchdown drive that cut the Hoosiers’ lead to 20-10.
