More than 100 investigators are racing to solve a daring heist at the Louvre Museum in Paris. Thieves stole centuries-old jewels worth an estimated 88 million euros, including pieces linked to 19th century queens.

Thieves broke into the Louvre in Paris — the world's most visited museum — early Sunday morning. Museum officials said they stole jewelry and fled.

France’s trove of DNA profiles has helped solve high-profile crimes and was used to find some of the Louvre suspects, and it is growing. The police can also access other countries’ databases.
