ESPN is zeroing in on its plan for its high-profile early-evening programming window, reports The Athletic's Andrew Marchand.
Van Pelt, the longtime host of the late-night “SportsCenter” and “Monday Night Countdown,” could move up in the day to fill the void left by “Around the Horn,” which was cancelled in May after 23 years on air. The potential switch would mark one of the biggest shakeups in ESPN history.
ESPN reportedly wanted to reunite the popular duo to replace Around the Horn, but Russillo opted to sign with Barstool Sports instead. Earlier this week, The Athletic reported the news that ESPN was interested in having Russillo and Van Pelt team back up together.
