Bronx subway incident: 4 train car separates, passengers safe
A subway car separation on a southbound 4 train in the Bronx created a tense situation for passengers on Sunday.
Multiple subway lines are severely disrupted after a person was hit in Brooklyn on Wednesday evening, according to the MTA.
A subway train came apart in transit Sunday in the Bronx, suspending some service on the 4 and 5 lines but resulting in no injuries, MTA officials said.
The MTA’s recent order of 378 R268 cars includes 11 eight-car trains that will be sent to the C line to replace the still-new, 10-car R211 sets that have been running for less than two years.
According to the MTA, there was a decoupling between the third and fourth car of a No. 4 train, meaning the cars separated.
