An estimated 40 houses were swept away by raging water from the creek in Barangay Tamiao in Compostela, Cebu as Typhoon Tino ravaged the Visayas regions on Tuesday.

Due to the effects of Tino, which has made seven landfalls since Tuesday, Central Visayas has declared a region-wide state of calamity. Malacañang on Wednesday said it wants an investigation into the 343 flood control projects in Cebu from 2016 to 2022, which could have helped the province during Typhoon Tino’s onslaught.
