Five U.S. Navy sailors were rescued from the South China Sea after a fighter jet and helicopter crashed into the ocean during routine operations.

The Navy's Pacific Fleet says a fighter jet and a helicopter based off the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz both crashed into the South China Sea within 30 minutes of each other

All five crew members survived separate crashes of a Navy F/A-18F Super Hornet fighter and an MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter in the South China Sea.
