The bodies of three Israel Defense Forces soldiers -- including American-Israeli Omer Neutra -- were returned to Israel by Hamas overnight on Sunday. All three were killed during Hamas' Oct. 7, 2023, attack. The bodies of eight deceased hostages are now believed to still be inside Gaza.

Hamas handed over bodies of three hostages on Sunday, even as the Palestinian militant group traded blame with Israel for violations of the tenuous truce that has mostly halted two years of war.

Since the ceasefire in Gaza took effect on Oct. 10, Palestinian militants had released the remains of 17 hostages, with 11 remaining in Gaza.
