Conditions are right for another quiet week at and near the top of The Associated Press college football poll. There was minimal shuffling last week.

That said, the Cornhuskers were one of the most-feared teams in college football history for multiple decades, a status given credence with the program's 930 all-time wins since debuting in 1890. The Cornhuskers have five claimed national championships, including two in 1970 and 1971.

But many of the top labor unions told ABC News that they continue to back the strategy taken up by Democrats, breaking with the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), which represents hundreds of thousands of federal workers losing out on pay and staring down the threat of layoffs.
